My website photo July 2011

Qualified from the McTimoney Chiropractic College, Oxon MCT (1994), and has been in full practice since. Other techniques practiced include Bioenergetic Synchronisation Technique BEST (2004) and Koren Specific Technique KST (2007). Is also a Reiki Master (Usui, Karuna Reiki® and Colour Reiki). Teaching qualification City & Guilds Stage One (1997).

Treatment type and style used

A detailed case history is taken on the first visit. All of the above techniques practised are low force. MCT uses a combination of accuracy, dexterity and speed to correct imbalances in the skeletal structure and restore health and wellbeing. The whole body is treated when using MCT, not just the areas where there are presenting symptoms. Techniques are usually mixed during treatment to suit the individual case. MCT skeletal adjusting is always used initially unless a patient requests otherwise. Symptom free MCT technique maintenance treatment is available. It is highly cost effective, optional, and popular with existing patients after their initial course of treatment. Specific treatments using only Reiki are available at a patient’s request.

Initial treatment plan given

Two appointments are essential for new patients. They are usually a week apart but this can sometimes vary. Further treatment is given according to this initial response. The timing of any further treatments can vary. The last internal practice audit indicated that nearly 90% of new patients find their symptoms cleared within four visits, but patients are occasionally referred within this time, sometimes to their GP for further tests or to a different therapy mode. This depends on the case history and initial response. Referrals are infrequent but essential.

Common health problems treated

Muscle and joint symptoms to clear the nervous system and improve mobility using MCT; disc adjusting using KST; headaches, allergies and dyslexia treatment with KST; hormonal balancing using BEST; emotional balancing using KST and BEST. Please phone to discuss your individual needs first if you wish.

Factors affecting healing

Duration and cause of symptoms, general health status, posture, lifestyle and age are all important.

Free spinal checks

Are available by appointment. These do not include treatment or any obligation to attend for treatment in the future. They can enable a more informed decision about treatment suitability to be made.

Addition information

Taught in the McTimoney College’s student clinic for six years and has been actively involved in post graduate support for many years. Currently more focussed on writing a research paper about the treatment of slipped discs using KST for future journal publication. Also currently researching the feedback from symptom-free maintenance patients via a practice audit, with the intention of writing about this subject in the future.
